There really are moments when the world feels like it’s caving in. When it all seems pointless and hard work and nothing could possibly be more important than your situation.
We get caught up in the 4 walls surrounding us. Caught up in the person in front of us. Caught up in the pile of work stacked up next to us.
We lose ourselves to the sight we have right before us but there’s so much more out there.
There’s stars in the sky whether it’s day time or night time.
The suns beaming down whether you’re out lying in it or not.
Somewhere there’s rain falling, wind blowing, clouds moving, blue skies, thunder clapping there’s so much more.
But my favourite of all is the sea.
Where ever you are the sea is crashing against the rocks.
The waves are never ending. They’re splashing against the land every day, every moment, every weather.
The constant war between rock and water, it’s unending, unrelenting, unimaginably peaceful? In those moments were lost in our own minds the rocks and waves fight against each other in attempt to live out nature’s perfect design.
The fish still swim- no change in pace, no clock to follow, no particular goal. The life of the ocean floats around its pace, unaware of the waves crashing around above them. Unaware of the entire world we consume ourselves with above the surface. They’re not caught up in the same unending burnout we exist in.
The waves will crash, the fish will swim, the rain will fall, clouds move, lighting strike and the sun beam down. Regardless of whether you’re there to enjoy it or not.
We live in a beautiful world far beyond our own imagination.
